There are four locations: The CluckHaus, Blossom Den, Outdoor Art Area, and Kids’ Area.
The CluckHaus
- 1 pm Can Fairbanks Survive $10 per Gallon Gasoline
- Alternative Transportation and Community Planning for the Future with Paul Adasiak of Fairbanks Pedestrian
- 2 pm Sustainable Energy in Fairbanks
- Learn about energy conservation in your home. Grasp the potential of GVEA's SNAP program, the importance of community participation, and how to become a SNAP Producer. Also learn about how you can join the Solar North Cooperative and help build the largest solar array in the state. Presented by Kliff Hopson and the Common Ground collective.
- 3 pm Greywater recirculation for Alaskan houses: saving water, reclaiming heat.
- Cooperative Extension Energy Consultant and sustainability guru Garrison Collette, and the Cold-Climate Housing Research Center's Dave Shippey (invited) will share their research and experience on greywater catchment and reuse in toilets, car washing, garden watering, or any other use of free, almost clean water. Existing commercial systems will be covered, as well as a discussion of the importance of water cost in operating a Fairbanks house. We will build a basic system for a small house as part of this workshop. Come out and learn a valuable skill, learn about water in houses, and most importantly, have a good time living in harmony with the Earth!

- A Review of Clean and Efficient Wood Heating Technologies Available Now in Fairbanksi: Connie Huffman, Masonry Heater Association of North America; Dan Givens, Stonecastle Masonry; Dave Misiuk (invited), Cold Climate Housing Research Center
- 7 pm One Hour Film Festival

Kids’ Area
Enjoy facepainting, petting baby goats, playing dress up and legos, and choose a free kids’ book from the Literacy Council throughout the day.
